There are lots of hiking spots in or near Golden. Here are some ideas:

- Mesa Top & Cottonwood Canyon Loop

- Chimney Gulch & Lookout Mountain Trail

- Mount Galbraith Loop via Cedar Gulch Trail

- Enchanted Forest Trail

Red Rocks is an amazing music venue, but it's also a beautiful place to explore and hike during the day. If you're feeling adventurous, there might be a way to walk/hike from downtown Golden, but a rideshare will be the easiest way to get there.

Golden has lots of breweries. These breweries are right downtown:

- Golden City Brewery

- Mountain Toad Brewing

- Cannonball Creek Brewing Company

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is our country's only national laboratory dedicated solely to renewable energy, and it's right in Golden! Added bonus: Liz used to work there! They offer tours to the public for adults 18+ (click here to book). You can't walk there from downtown, but it could be worth a quick car/bus ride.
