Can I explore the Denver Botanic Gardens?
Yes! The Denver Botanic Gardens allows wedding guests to explore the gardens at any time the day of the wedding- for free! Just give them your name and let them know you're one of our guests. You can even explore the gardens during Cocktail Hour with a glass of bubbly in hand.
What should I wear?
For the Rehearsal Dinner at Golden Mill, wear whatever makes you most comfortable! You can go casual with jeans or dressier if you'd like.
For the Ceremony at Denver Botanic Gardens, we're asking guests to wear semi-formal attire. But again, make sure you're comfortable- we'll be outside, and you'll need to walk a bit. (Autumn colors get bonus points but are not required!)
For exploring Golden, we recommend packing for hot weather, but bring layers.
How can I get around while I'm in Colorado?
Check out our Travel page for transportation info.
How much will I need to walk?
At the Denver Botanic Gardens, you'll need to walk about 10 minutes from the shuttle drop-off spot to the location of the Ceremony. Check out our Travel page for information about Rehearsal Dinner walking estimates.
What is Colorado weather like in October?
Early October in Colorado can be unpredictable, but it will probably be warm and dry during the day and cool at night. We recommend bringing layers and checking the forecast when you're packing in case it's chillier than expected. And don't forget sunscreen - it's easy to get sunburned here!
How can I prepare for the high altitude?
Denver is known as the Mile-High City because it's one mile - 5,280 ft - above sea level. Drinking lots of water (more water than you think you need!) is the best way to prevent altitude sickness. And don't exert yourself too much when you first get here, especially if you're coming from sea level.
Is it an indoor or outdoor wedding?
The wedding will be outdoors, but both the rehearsal dinner and ceremony spaces have some overhead coverage in case of unexpected weather.
